About the Vehicles

Do I need an Electric Hook Up at campsites?

Yes, you should always book a pitch with Electric Hook Up. Campervans and motorhomes especially are not designed for wild camping, so if you do not have an EHU we can’t guarantee that the lights, fridge and heater will have enough energy from the leisure battery to work for the entirety of your trip. If you choose to book a pitch without EHU we cannot be held liable if you run out of power.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, all of our vehicles are dog friendly with the exceptions of our Luxe campervans. We’d love for you to be able to take your dogs on holiday with you; as long as the vehicle is returned in the same great condition that we provide it in!

You can add on your furry friends at checkout for only £35 per dog.

Is there a mileage limit?

Our vehicles have unlimited mileage within the UK (excluding Northern Ireland).

If you’re travelling outside the UK there is a daily fee for European insurance and breadown cover. 100 miles per day are included for free and any further miles are charged at 25p per mile.

What extras are included with the vehicles?

We want to take the stress out of packing for your camping trip and so we provide a range of extras to make your life a little easier! We provide gas, electricity hook-up lead, water funnel and chocks at no extra charge.

Optional Extras
We also offer kitchen sets, bedding & towels, camping chairs and tables, non-isofix child seats, additional drivers and European cover, for a fee, bookable online.

Do the vehicles have a bathroom?

Our motorhomes all have a bathroom which includes a toilet, sink and shower. Our campervans don’t have a bathroom or toilet but don’t worry, almost all campsites will have shower/WC facilities.

Can I hire a bike rack?

Our Retro Campervans all have bike racks as standard.

Our motorhomes do not come with an external bike rack but have plenty of storage. We recommend Jasper if you need a large storage area for bikes.

Do you provide gas bottles?

Yes we do. We will always supply at least one bottle of gas. If you use it all up you will need to buy a refill from any petrol station or outdoor shop.

How does the gas and electric work? (Campers/Motorhomes)

There is a gas bottle in the vehicle which you can use to operate the cooker. Full instructions will be included in advance. The leisure battery provides electricity at 12V to power the fridge, water pump, lights and USB points. When you plug your campervan or motorhome into the mains, you can then use standard 240V appliances. Before picking up your vehicle, we will send you a link to our app which includes instructional videos on how everything works.

Can you provide baby and child car seats?

Yes. You can add this at checkout for only £20.

We have a range of child seats suitable for new-borns all the way up to children aged 12. The vehicles do NOT have Isofix so please bear this in mind if you’re planning on bringing your own child seat.

Can I take my vehicle around Europe or just the UK?

We currently only allow our vehicles for UK hire only.

Do we get any campsite discounts for with our GOAT Roadtrip vehicle?

Yes! We’re members of the Camping and Caravan Club, which entitles you to up to 30% off Club Sites and 15% off Camping in The Forest Sites. You’ll find a copy of the Camping and Caravan Brochure in the glove compartment of your vehicle – or you can find details online at www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk.

When you’ve selected the Club Site you’d like to stay on, all you have to do is show them the Privilege key fob, which you will find on the keys of your hire vehicle, on arrival to claim your discount.

To guarantee your pitch it’s best to book. To Book your campsite please call the service centre on 024 7647 5426 for Club Sites or 024 7647 3008 for Camping in the Forest sites and let them know you are booking under the Privilege Scheme. A small deposit will be taken and upon arrival at the Club Site, your due balance will be discounted accordingly on presentation of the Privilege key fob provided. Alternatively, you can make a non-member booking online and follow the same process.

Collection and Drop off

What time is collection and drop off?

This depends on the vehicle and season. Typically you pick up your vehicle in the afternoon and drop it off in the morning. You can see the exact timing for each vehicle on their respective pages or in the summary below:

Motorhome – Pickup between 4pm and 5pm and drop-off between 9am and midday.

Swamper Campervans – Pickup between 3pm and 5pm and drop-off between 9am and midday.

Retro Campervans – Pickup between 2pm and 5pm and drop-off between 9am and 11am.

We can sometimes offer early pick-ups and late drop-offs (prices start from £50) but this depends on availability – please enquire about this.

It is really important that you return the vehicle on time as it will impact the next customer if you do not.  You will be charged £50 per hour that you are late and we will recover this from your deposit.

Where can I pick the vehicle up from?

You can pick up your vehicle at our Leeds depot.

The address is:

Kirkstall,

e.g. if you’re hiring Jasper (Motorhome), delivery will be between 4pm and 6pm on your first day, and you only need to return to your own home by noon on your final day.

Can I leave my car somewhere secure?

You can leave your car in the on-site car park for the duration of your trip and simply collect it when you return your campervan, we do require you to leave your car keys with us if you do leave your car. The carpark is fenced and has CCTV. There is a charge of £10/day for parking your car at our Leeds depot.

What documents do I need to bring with me to collect my vehicle?

We ask that anyone who will be driving the vehicle is present when you come to collect your keys. We’ll need to see a fully valid UK driving licence for each named driver.

If you have a non UK drivers licence please enquire with us before you hire a vehicle.

If you’ve booked with an NHS/Military Discount then you will need to present the relevant ID at collection.

We must receive all your insurance documents at least 48 hours before the hire start date, but you do not need to bring these with you on the day.

For a full list of required documents, please see our hire documents page.

Do the vehicles need to be returned with a full fuel tank?

Yes please! Since all vehicles start with a full tank of diesel, we ask that they are returned in the same way!
